I wonder if they thought that people should continue trying to play a game they can't actually SEE. Making those turns is next to impossible. You earn time from blowing things up, but that time is not applied to your clock until after you pass the next checkpoint. Say that it takes 20 seconds to drive straight from X to Y, and you have 30 seconds on your clock.

So you decide to take extra time blowing stuff up. You might earn an additional 45 seconds in the process, but you won't get to use them if you fail to make it to checkpoint Y before your original 30 seconds expire.

Ok NVM, I just figured out that it's a waste of time running over vehicles. It was 10 times easier riding on the sidewalk and running over people for 10 times more seconds.

It's amazing how easy things get when you figure out strategies. That doesn't answer your initial problem, though.
